Seamus-
Hopefully you're reading this before the Prophet gets a hold of it.  You know I've been working on Mandy Brocklehurst's appeal to get off the registry- we got word from Snape that she was missing last night, and the WCU came to their house this morning to inform us that she is being executed tomorrow for murdering Cormac McLaggen.  Seamus, she had taken her Wolfsbane- there was no way on earth she would have hurt Cormac.  If you have any contacts at the ministry- start pulling strings if you can.  I'll have my journal wherever I'm at- let me know if you can find anything out or help at all.

And PLEASE don't tell anyone where you got this information.  Officially, we're not allowed to say a word, but Bingley knows we need all the help we can get.

Hannah, if you're reading this before you've seen the Daily Prophet, please sit down and take a deep breath.  You know I've been working on Mandy Brocklehurst's appeal to get off the registry- we got word from Snape that she was missing last night, and the WCU came to their house this morning to inform us that she has been accused of murdering Cormac McLaggen.  We are doing everything we can to convince the Ministry to hold some sort of trial, but we can use all the support we can get.  I'll be in and out of the office, but I let Seamus know- and if I know him, he'll start getting people together as soon as he's awake.  PLEASE don't tell anyone else where you got this information.  Officially, we're not allowed to say a word, but Bingley knows we need all the help we can get.

Whatever you do, please be careful and stay safe.

I just read the article in the Prophet. While I feel for Miss Broklehurst, I am more worried about you. I know that may sound cold but I never really knew her as anything more than a schoolmate. Since you were at the house when the Minstry arrived are you also locked down? The article didn't say one way or the other but alludes to the fact that you have been placed under high suspicion. The article also mentioned that the Ministry is looking into pressing charges against you for conspiracy to commit murder. Please let me know something as soon as you can. Take care of yourself and you stay safe.

Because I'm here as "legal counsel", I'm not technically under the house arrest- Bingley and I can (supposedly) go in and out, but we're about it.

We haven't heard anything about additional charges against anyone in the house, which is a relief for now.

They've stopped the post here- how bad is the article? We've not actually seen it, but I can guess.

I should be back in the office this afternoon, if Bingley can argue me out of here, but right now the guards are not being overly cooperative. I'm just glad I thought to grab my journal-

I know that the Prophet usually reports whatever makes for a good story, but that doesn't mean there won't be an outcry that all those associated with Brocklehurst are to be treated as if they committed the crime themselves. And you know how the Minister likes to appease the public.

Please let me know when you get out of there so I won't have to worry about you so much.
